ForestWatch bushfire early detection system

Fire Fighting Technologies (FFT) is the Australia and New Zealand supplier of the ForestWatch bushfire early detection system. This acclaimed system, tried and tested around the world, comprises remote high definition cameras and visual image processing software to detect the first signs of smoke from a forest fire, and can be completely tailored to a client's needs.

It is a fully automated system, never resting, working around the clock, accurately and immediately pinpointing the position of a forest fire and significantly reducing the time necessary to report and fight it. Every forest fire is a crisis, but with ForestWatch, it needn't be a catastrophe. On 7 February 2009, bushfires ravaged Victoria; 430,000 hectares and 2,000 homes were burned and 173 people died in some of the worst wildfires in living memory. ForestWatch cannot prevent wildfires from starting, but this system significantly improves the chance of stopping them before they can cause significant damage to land, lives and the environment.
