THE PUMP UNIT (HydroSub)

The HydroSub pump consists of a diesel engine power pack, hydraulically driving a portable floating submersible pump. The uniqueness of this pump is its high capacity of up to 4500L/min for the standard HydroSub and even up to 22000L/min for the larger model, despite small sizes and low weight.

NO DRAFT PROBLEM ANYMORE

The submersible pump is linked to the power pack by 60 metre long hydraulic hoses, allowing access to any open water at a 60 metre distance from the power pack either horizontal or vertical, unlike a standard fire truck or fire draft pump that has to stand very close to the water and is limited by the draft issue as it uses suction to draw water.

Additionally the pump is capable of pumping salt water, chemical polluted water, mud, dirt, and can operate in shallow water with no risk of pump failure due to cavitation. It can also be used in conjunction with a mobile desalination plant and/or mobile water treatment plant.

The fact that the pump is especially designed for long distance relays, with an extreme FLAT CURVE, contributes also strongly to the success of the system.

Capacities

Example: HydroSub 150 with standard impeller, 6 inch hoses, 15 metre lift
- 2500L/min over 4300 metres @ 2 bar
- 4000L/min over 1100 metres @ 2 bar
- 2500L/min over 1600 metres @ 8 bar at the end of the hose enabling direct supply to ground monitors, without the need for boost pumps or fire trucks.

Larger pump units delivering 22000L/min, still fully containerised hence mobile, are available in the HYTRANS range.

Smaller units (1500L/min @ 10 bar are also available.

Dewatering Capacities
HydroSub 60: 20000L/min @ 0.3 bar
eg. 16000L/min with a 5 metre lift (over a levy) and 20 metres of 10 inch hose

HydroSub 150: 40000L/min @ 0.3 bar
