New HYTRANS Flood Skid Launched at EU FloodEx 2009

7 Oct 2009

In Europe, multinational cooperation of flood combat agencies culminated recently in the 4-day EU FloodEx 2009 Field Exercise (22-25 Sept) held in the Netherlands. See www.floodex.eu.
The exercise's objective was to train in practice and improve whenever necessary existing procedures for alerting, mobilising and dispatching international emergency services in the event of a major flood as floods don't respect man-made administrative boundaries.
HYTRANS High Volume Pumps were deployed as illustrated in the above photo where a Chinook airlifted a HYTRANS HydroSub 150 over 37km from Bergen to Den Oever in the Netherlands.
HYTRANS launched the Flood Skid (in white on photo above), containing 3 submersible Flood Pumps and 12" flood hoses which, combined with a standard HydroSub 150, their diesel-engine driven hydraulic power pack, can dewater flood affected areas at a flow rate of 40,000L/min.
